Roller Derby is back on track for 2022, and the Northern Brisbane Rollers are ready for a huge year ahead – kicking off with the Queensland Roller Derby Leagues’ Open Season.
Running from 2 April until 10 September 2022, Open Season sees a total of 11 teams from six leagues compete across two divisions.
In Round 1, our NBR Blackhearts faced off against Sun State Roller Derby in the season opening game. We were thrilled to take to the track with a brand new line-up, with two skaters making their debut, and a number of players returning from several years’ break from the sport. In the end, Sun State were too strong for us, taking the win 256-42, but despite the loss we are fired up and excited to be playing derby again!

With the first game done and dusted, we’re getting ready for Round 2 on Saturday 7 May. We’ll be taking on East Coast Derby Dolls at 4:15pm, and we’d love to see you there (decked out in teal, of course) to cheer us on!
