Northern Brisbane Rollers is proud to be hosting a World Skate Clinic for both Skaters and Officials on Sunday 26 June 2022.

Supported by Skate Australia, Skate Queensland and Roller Derby Australia, this all-day clinic will cover a World Skate Q&A, the World Skate ruleset, training and drills, culminating in a Black & White scrimmage. We welcome and encourage officials to attend to learn the ruleset and gain experience in officiating.

This event is open to all Level 3 15+ juniors (with host and skaters league approval) and adult skaters who have completed minimum skills / Development Program with their league.

All Level 3 15+ Juniors MUST download the clinic Juniors policy and have their parent/guardian sign the consent form. This form must be brought on the clinic day in order to participate. NBR World Skate Clinic 2022 Juniors Policy (PDF)

Cost: $10 per skater, paid at the door on the day; there is no cost for officials.

Time: 9.30am – 3pm
SKATERS: Doors open at 9.15am. The event will begin at 9.30am with a 30 minute off-skates session covering rules, Q&A and game play. The on-skates event will run from 10.00am – 3.00pm. There will be a black and white scrimmage running from approximately 1.30pm – 3.00pm

OFFICIALS: Doors open at 11.15am. The event will begin at 11.45am with a 1 hour Refereeing and Officiating session followed by a scrimmage where officials will be able to put their new skills into practice.

Skate Australia is the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for all Skate Sports in Australia of which Roller Derby is one. Skate Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission (SportAUS & AIS), the Australian Olympic Committee and the international federation World Skate who in turn are recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

The ‘International Rules of Roller Derby’ is the roller derby ruleset that is recognised by World Skate and played at the 3rd World Skate Games, which will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 24 October to 13 November 2022.
